The three-week study tour will take students to three Southeast Asian countries: Singapore, Malaysia, and Indonesia. It provides firsthand insights into the opportunities and challenges for organisations wishing to conduct business in these countries.听Applications close 4 May 2025

Programme Information

The core of the programme involves business visits and meetings in听 four cities:

  • Singapore (5 nights)
  • Johor Bahru, Malaysia (2 nights)
  • Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia (6 nights)
  • Jakarta, Indonesia (6 nights)

In addition, it includes a range of cultural activities, including an overnight stay in Melaka in Malaysia, as well as free days to explore each city on your own.

The course itself has a deeply practical focus, including a project where you will work in a group to undertake research and develop recommendations for a client interested in expanding in the region, allowing you to learn about the factors that are important for making good decisions about where and how to expand internationally.

There is also a strong focus on preparing you to function affectively across cultures in your future careers and lives. Linked to this, you will explore cultural differences that may require adaptation at an individual level, utilising the cultural intellegence framework as a tool to identify and develop strategy for navigating these.听

While the study tour component is three-week long, the course also consists of workshops, activities and assessment items beforehand and afterwards.

The study tour is part of听, which is a 15-point 200-level course.

  • Programme鈥痜ee: $2,950 for domestic students or $3,950 for international students*

Programme fee includes:

  • Airfares
  • Twin share accommodation including breakfast
  • Transportation for programme activities, except where MRT/Metro is used
  • Indonesia visa cost

Programme fee DOES NOT INCLUDE:

  • Singapore and Malaysia visa costs if required**
  • Meals
  • Some transportation for programme activities where MRT/Metro is used
  • Personal expenses during the programme
  • Costs associated with changing airfares if you wish to do this
  • Any expenses associated with travel outside the programme

*The programme fee for domestic students is less due to external funding that only applies to domestic students.

If you are not a New 蘑菇视频在线观看citizen and you do need a visa to enter either country or you are New 蘑菇视频在线观看citizen and wish to stay beyond the visa-free period, you will be responsible for organising this at your own expense.

The programme fee is a reduced fee, with external funding and UC Business School subsidising the actual cost.

M膩ori and Pacific students may also be able to receive a听Global Experience Award - M膩ori and Pacific students听valued at $1,000 to further subsidise the cost.

If you are eligible for a student loan or allowance at UC, you should continue to be eligible for the study tour, provided that you meet the requirements of听.

The programme fee is a reduced fee, with a generous grant from a UC Malaysian alumnus subsidising the actual cost, alongside a contribution from UC Business School.

To be eligible, you must have completed:

  • At least 120 points towards a UC undergraduate degree by the end of 2025 S1 with a GPA of at least 4.0, of which a minimum of 60 points must be from UC, or;
  • At least 60 points by the end of 2025 S1 with a minimum GPA of 5.0, all of which must be from UC, and;
  • ECON104 and a further 15 points from Schedule V of the BCom

In addition to meeting the eligibility criteria above, you must鈥痯rovide鈥痑 personal statement when applying for the programme, which will be鈥痗onsidered鈥痠n鈥痵hortlisting applicants.鈥

Shortlisted applicants must also participate in a selection exercise, which will be the basis of final selection.

UC Business School CQ Certificate

This is an approved experience under the UC Business School CQ Certificate. Students who complete the experience, as well as meet all other requirements, will receive a UC Business School CQ Certificate.
