Rules
路听 听 SERVE UNDERHAND
When you serve the ball, the serve must be underhand, the paddle must be below your wrist, you must contact the ball below your waist with an upwards movement
路听 听 听SERVE DIAGONALLY
The serve must be diagonally cross-court and the serve must clear the kitchen (non-volley zone) area and the kitchen (non-volley zone) line and be inside the baseline
路听 听 ALTERNATE SERVES
The first serve is made from the right side of the court each time and if the server scores a point, that player then serves from the left side. The server will continue to alternate sides of the court they serve from until they lose a point
路听 听 FEET BEHIND BASELINE
While serving, you must keep your feet behind the baseline
路听 听 WHEN YOU LOSE THE POINT, THE OTHER TEAM SERVES
The game score starts a 0-0, when you lose the point, the other team gets the serve, just make sure you are alternating the server, so the same person doesn鈥檛 serve every team
路听 听 SERVER CALLS THE SCORE
The server calls the score before serving the ball, the caller states their team score first, then the receiving team鈥檚 score
路听 听 TWO BOUNCES
There is a two-bounce rule which means that after the serve each side must let the ball bounce once before returning it. After the two bounces, you can either hit the ball before it bounces (a volley), or after it bounces once
路听 听 THE 鈥楰ITCHEN鈥
There is a zone called 鈥渢he kitchen鈥 within seven feet on both sides of the net. This is the 鈥渘o-volley鈥 zone 鈥 meaning you can only hit a ball from this zone if it bounces first. If you hit a volley when standing in the kitchen, it is considered a fault. It is also a fault if you accidentally step into the kitchen after hitting a volley, even if it鈥檚 just momentum that sends you there
路听 听 A PICKLEBALL TOUCHING THE LINE IS IN
A ball touching any part of the line is in, pickleballs don鈥檛 compress like a tennis ball, if you can鈥檛 say the ball was out then it should be called in. It is up to the side where the ball lands to make the in / out line call
